The 2008 America’s Retirement Challenge Roundtable is designed as a discussion among ten to twelve participants. A facilitator will lead the Roundtable, encouraging a dynamic, substantive interchange among participants. Seated in a venue with a capacity for 200 persons, the audience for the Roundtable will include individuals with a particular interest in encouraging the middle-aged and aging boomer populations to prepare for a secure retirement by planning now for financial and health concerns in the future, and the role of non-profit advocacy groups.

Roundtable Focus

This roundtable will examine the critical planning which should be taking in early adulthood and throughout a lifetime of employment to prepare for the end of careers. It will examine the financial tools to needed to create long term financial security. It will also discuss the policy role of advocacy groups for seniors. In this context, topics of the 2008 America’s Retirement Challenge Roundtable may include:

  1. When do we begin your financial planning?
  2. What are the available financial structures to amass necessary funds to retirement?
  3. How do we use certified financial planners?
  4. How to evaluate and balance investments to achieve maximum returns and minimum risk?
  5. Are annuities and long term insurance effective long term investments?
  6. What is the role of non-profit groups and advocacy groups in senior planning?
